their new roles as Apprenticeship Ambassadors.
The Ambassadors work across diverse
sectors from media, digital, financial services, IT, construction, museums and
retail representing organisations of all sizes from household names Channel 4,
Visa, NHS Hospital Trusts and BHS to local painting and decorating firms.
Vic Grimes, Divisional Apprenticeship
Director – London
and the South East, National Apprenticeship Service said:
“This is a great opportunity for the
National Apprenticeship Service to work closely with some of the best
Apprenticeship employers we have in London and the South East.
The Network will use their passion, knowledge and experience of running
successful Apprenticeship programmes to encourage more businesses to start
their own high quality Apprenticeship programme supporting even more young
people into successful careers.”
Kevin McLoughlin, Managing Director, said:
“I am delighted to support the National Apprenticeship
Service as an Employer Ambassador. K&M has many years’ experience working
with Apprenticeships and this is a really positive step forward to encourage
more young people to consider Apprenticeships”.
Jean Duprez, Senior Manager, said:
This gives K&M a great platform which enables us to
promote apprenticeships to other companies showing the benefits of investing in
your workforce and ensuring you are not left with a skills gap.”
The role of the Ambassadors
includes:
- Speaking at business events to share
their good practice
- Being available to speak to other
employers referred to them
- Media – to give interviews, quotes, case studies
- Encouraging businesses in their sector
and supply chain to recruit apprentices
The National Apprenticeship Service focuses on increasing the
number of apprentices in England . We work
with employers to help them introduce apprentices into their businesses, help
those looking to start their careers find an Apprenticeship opportunity and
contribute towards the costs of the training and qualifications within an
Apprenticeship. We engage with a wide range of partners to help design the
frameworks for apprentices and we implement all Government policies aimed at
setting the high standard of quality Apprenticeships.
We promote excellence in
Apprenticeships and vocational training with awards, campaigns and skills
competitions including National Apprenticeship Week and WorldSkills UK .
