Thursday, 14 July 2011

K&M McLoughlin Decorating Ltd was presented with the ‘Outstanding Subcontractor’ award at the National Skills Academy for Construction London 2012 Awards ceremony on 7th July 2011. The awards, which were hosted by CITB-ConstructionSkills, were attended by apprentices, managers and contractors from across the industry.

The event celebrated the highly-valued contribution of the Olympic Delivery Authority’s National Skills Academy for Construction projects. The National Skills Academy for Construction is a site-based training model, bringing training direct to high profile projects to ensure that employers give their workforce access to the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.

Jean Duprez was recognised for the company’s continual contribution to employment and skills activities and for her outstanding contribution to the Apprentice Project on London 2012.

Jean said:
“I am honoured to have received this award and I am also delighted that our work with apprenticeships and training has received such high-profile recognition. Our company has always been committed to helping youngsters learn a real trade that will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives. The Olympic site has provided a tremendous opportunity both for us as a company, and also for our apprentices. In total, we placed 22 apprentices at the Olympics and it will be something that they will remember for all their lives.”
